II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope (including all lots and options, if applicable) Basildon District Council invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out enforcement action(s) on land within the district of Basildon whether under section 178 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 or any other legal authority. Initial selection of candidates will be via a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire where applicants will be expected to demonstrate their experience, financial and commercial standing and have good quality management systems. This contract represents a high-profile issue within the district. The winning bidder must demonstrate commitment to upholding the principles of equalities and diversity legislation and be sensitive and responsive to the needs of vulnerable people, including children, the elderly, and infirm. The scope of this contract at this time includes enforcement action on two sites in the district. At this time, there are approximately 50 plots in breach of planning control. This number may fluctuate. The winning bidder, in addition to work on the above-mentioned sites, may also be required to carry out enforcement action(s) on land within the district of Basildon whether under section 178 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 or any other legal authority. It is estimated that contract performance will be complete within a 24-month period. This time frame may vary.
