II.1.5) Short Description of the contract or purchase(s) Basildon Borough Council requires arrangements (split by Lots) for the haulage and treatment of bulked co-mingled dry recyclate from the Council's transfer station within Basildon District, and separately, for the haulage of mixed garden and food waste from Basildon to Potters Bar. The Council requires haulage of separated glass (collected by the authority from dwellings) to re-processors for treatment and wishes to consider options for this to be maintained as a segregated stream or co-mingled after collection with the stream of other mixed dry recyclates. Total contract value (all lots) is estimated to be in the region of GBP 1,900,000 and GBP 3,500,000 per annum, maximum total value for the maximum 7-year contract period is therefore estimated to be in the region of GBP 13,300,000 and GBP 24,500,000 (all lots). The contract will initially be for 4 years with an option to extend by mutual agreement up to a further 3 years in increments of one year. The values given in this notice are only estimations and includes for the possible extension period of up to a further 36 months - the Authority gives no guarantee or warranty or makes any representation as to the accuracy of any indicative volumes or as to the value of the work during the contract period. ANNEX B - INFORMATION ABOUT LOTS

Title:
1) Short Description: Lot 1A, Tenders will be required for the haulage and treatment of circa 30,000 tonnes pa of co-mingled dry recyclate to include as a minimum: mixed plastics, films, cans, foils, paper, mixed card, telephone books and catalogues in sacks . Lot 1B, As Lot 1A with the inclusion of mixed glass circa 40,000 tonnes pa (which has been collected source segregated at the kerbside in kerbside boxes) to be collected (and not mixed with the other dry recyclate) from Basildon and transferred to the Tenderer's Treatment facilities. Lot 1C, As lot 1A with the inclusion of mixed glass (collected in the same container as the mixed dry recyclate) circa 40,000 tonnes pa to be collected from Basildon, mixed with the other dry recyclate, to the Tenderer's treatment facilities.
